April 2008 Congratulations to the winners of Poetry Slam 2008! To see video clips of the winners, click on their names. Jessica Diaz Hurtado won first place, Ben Simon and Jacob Weisman tied for 2nd, and Constantine Kulakov won third.

April 2008 It's time to vote for the annual Black Eyed Susan awards. Come to the media center Wednesday, April 23 during your lunchtime (5 A or B). FREE PIZZA and TREATS for all voters who have read at least three Black Eyed Susan books.

March 2008 We hereby announce the two co-winners of our I Love My Library contest. A winning poem entitled Peace in the Library by Whitney Doye and a winning essay entitled Why I Love the Library by Nellie Beckett were judged to be the best.

February 2008 Trial Databases available through April 2008. Teachers and students can find information on any subject. Please let Ms. Hack or Ms. Lamphier know if you like a specific database and want us to purchase it.

January-February 2008 Enter the “I Love My Library” contest. Tell us why you LOVE coming to Blair’s library. Your entry can be a poem, essay, poster, bookmark, powerpoint, etc. All entries must be received by February 14th. The top 3 entries will receive giftcard prizes. Be creative and JOIN THE CONTEST!

December 2007 What books would YOU like to see in the Media Center? The PTSA is holding a fundraiser for the After Prom at the Bethesda Barnes and Noble on Dec. 15. We need a "wish list" of books that people can buy and donate to the library. Stop by and fill out a suggestion form today!

November 2007 What are you thankful for? As Thanksgiving approaches, think about what makes you happy. Pick up a turkey at the circulation desk and write a note to put on the bulletin board.

Speaking of books, those of you who still need to do your Summer Reading should click on the link for suggested books. We also have many books in the media center for you to choose from.
